Mallory Lowe Mpoka

Mallory Lowe Mpoka is a queer Cameroonian Belgian multidisciplinary artist based in Tiohtiá:ke (Montreal). Their practice centers photography, textiles, and ceramics while addressing themes of migration, cultural trauma, self-image, memory, and environmental colonialism.  They won the Malick Sidibé Prize in 2022 and the New Generation Photography Award in 2024. Their work has been shown globally, including at Savvy Contemporary (Berlin), 1-54 (New York), Villa Romana (Florence) and the Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto). They will have a duo exhibition at the National Gallery of Canada in Winter 2025.
